Basketball Game Preview: Rocky River Pirates vs. Lakewood Rangers

The Rocky River Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Lakewood Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rocky River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Last Friday, Rocky River was able to grind out a solid win over Bay, taking the game 60-48.

Meanwhile, Lakewood beat Normandy 43-35 on Friday. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Invaders are ranked 535th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rocky River pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Rocky River was taken down by Lakewood 75-41 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Rocky River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
