Texas Top 25 high school football scores: Kaidon Salter accounts for 410 yards, six touchdowns in Cedar Hill win

Tennessee-bound quarterback finally does in No. 3 DeSoto with fourth rushing touchdown; Duncanville scores 42 in first quarter; No. 4 Katy loses historic game.

Kaidon Salter accounted for 410 yards and six touchdowns Friday leading No. 14 Cedar Hill to a wild 49-42 win over third-ranked and visiting DeSoto in the top game featuring MaxPreps Top 25 ranked teams in Texas.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Salter completed 16 of 21 passes for 210 yards and two scores and added 200 yards rushing and four touchdowns as the Longhorns improved to 5-0.

His 48-yard touchdown scamper in the final two minutes seemed to put this away, giving Cedar Hill a 49-35 lead. But Chris Henley (108 yards rushing, two touchdowns) scored on a 38-yard TD to make it 49-42 with 1:29 left. 

Kevin Young Jr. added 69 yards rushing and a score, and seven catches and 103 yards and another touchdown for the winners, who finished with 444 total yards.

Quarterback Samari Collier accounted for 273 yards and two touchdowns for DeSoto, which dropped to 4-1.

In other big games in the state:

* Top-ranked Duncanville showed why it is on top, scoring 42 points in the first quarter en route to a 74-21 win over Waco Midway. Grayson James completed 13 of 15 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns and Malachi Medlock, Maraveous Reed and Jayvyn Square combined for 17 rushes, 234 yards and four touchdowns.



* In the biggest upset of the week on Thursday, No. 11 Tompkins defeated No. 4 Katy 24-19, becoming the first district foe to knock off the Tigers in 12 years — a span of 75 games. Senior quarterback and Alabama commit Jalen Milroe went 15 of 21 for 211 yards and three touchdowns, sparking the historic victory for Tompkins. The Falcons improved to 6-0.

* Zach Mundell accounted for 342 yards and six touchdowns as No. 9 Martin scored 55 of the game's final 63 points in a 55-23 win at Bowie. Mundell completed 20 of 24 passes for 278 yards and five touchdowns, two each going to Angel Merida and Cal Robinson, as the Warriors fought back from a 15-0 deficit.

* In a game that featured 1,234 total yards according to the Dallas Morning News, six different Allen players scored touchdowns in a wild 68-44 win over Little Elm (2-5), which got 595 total yards and five touchdowns from quarterback John Mateer. General Booty and Jake Wolff each threw two TD passes for 13th-ranked and visiting Allen (4-0).
