Leyden was handed a three-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Joliet Central Steelmen 1-0. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Steelmen, too.

Leyden's one-goal win came courtesy of Makayla Hernandez, which was the first she's scored this season.

The victory got Leyden back to even at 1-1. As for Joliet Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Leyden will face off against Solorio at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Joliet Central, they will take on Richards at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
