Softball Recap: Central Catholic Comes Up Short

The Central Catholic Rams came up short against the Tigard Tigers on Monday and fell 9-5. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portland Razo and Olivia Pompetti did some serious damage despite the final result: Razo scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Pompetti went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Pompetti's first of the season. Emery Pike was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tigard, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Central Catholic is taking a road trip to face off against Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tigard, they will host Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nelson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.86 runs per game on average), something Tigard will no doubt try to take advantage of.
