Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Find Success

John F. Kennedy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They slipped by the Cuero Gobblers 59-58. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Gobblers back in January, they had to take a 61-43 loss.

John F. Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Rocky Apolinar dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds and Phillip Magallanez posted 13 points and six assists. That's the most points Apolinar has posted since back in January of 2024. Latrell Fields was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

John F. Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

John F. Kennedy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17. As for Cuero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Gonzales the next time they take the court. Cuero will host Gonzales at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while John F. Kennedy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
