Softball Recap: Wingate Takes a Loss

Wingate had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-7 to make it four. They lost 15-0 to the Navajo Prep Fightin Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fightin Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

As for Navajo Prep, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Fightin Eagles, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Navajo Prep's part, Shania Johnhat looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnhat has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Navajo Prep beat Wingate by a score of 15-3 later that day.
