Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Dominic lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Sacopee Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Saints were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Hawks on Monday. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by exactly eight runs.

Nolan Cavers and Finley Cavers did most of the damage at the plate: Nolan went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Finley went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Finley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Blash, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for St. Dominic, bringing their record up to 6-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Sacopee Valley, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither St. Dominic nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
