Softball Game Preview: Upper Sandusky Rams vs. Bellevue Redmen

The Upper Sandusky Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Bellevue Redmen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Upper Sandusky will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Upper Sandusky is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Carey on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-0 win. The Rams' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

The team relied heavily on Carly Boes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Wengerd, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Upper Sandusky was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bellevue came up short against Ashland on Friday, falling 14-5. The Redmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Hicks was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Taylor Waldrup also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Upper Sandusky's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Upper Sandusky came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellevue in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
