Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Vista Trojans vs. Legacy Academy Silverbacks

The Mesa Vista Trojans will take on the Legacy Academy Silverbacks at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mesa Vista comes in on 14 and Legacy Academy on 15.

Mesa Vista is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Menaul 46-44. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Legacy Academy didn't have too much trouble with Eunice on Saturday as they won 50-36.

Legacy Academy's win came from a few key players Mesa Vista will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bryant Scales, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 16 points. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Dallas Baca was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Mesa Vista's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Legacy Academy, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.
