Baseball Recap: Monache Takes a Loss

Monache suffered their biggest loss since April 10th on Monday. They lost 8-1 to the Mt. Whitney Pioneers. The Marauders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Monache saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lewis Green, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Monache and nudges their season record down to 16-9. As for Mt. Whitney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monache will welcome Golden West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Whitney, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Porterville at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.96 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
