Lake Central has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Portage recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Wednesday. Lake Central will host Portage  at 4:30  p.m. Lake Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9  runs per game  this season.
Lake Central was handed a heart-breaking two-run  loss in their last  game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Chesterton  on Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by  a  12-1 margin over the Trojans. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their two-run performance the  contest before.

 Maddie Such looked comfortable as she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted  over her last eight  matchups.
 On the hitting side,  Kate Renschen was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last six games she's  played.  Taylor Schafer was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Lake Central  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chesterton only managed three  hits.
Meanwhile, Portage was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They lost  17-5 to Crown Point.
 Portage saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Hayden Orosz, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI.
 Portage's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Lake Central, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
Portage's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Lake Central has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.5  hits per game. It's a different story for Portage, though, as  they've been averaging 9.2  hits. Given Lake Central's sizable advantage in that area, Portage will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Lake Central took their  win against Portage  in their previous meeting  back in April by a conclusive  17-1 score. Will Lake Central repeat their success,  or does  Portage has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
