Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Southwest Guilford Cowboys
Ragsdale and Southwest Guilford are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Ragsdale Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Ragsdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Ragsdale didn't have too much trouble with Southeast Guilford at home as they won 65-50. The win was just what Ragsdale needed coming off of a 88-57 loss in their prior contest.
Ragsdale's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cam Wise, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and KJ Burke, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wise has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Patrick Carter, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Southwest Guilford entered their tilt with Northern Guilford with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Southwest Guilford came out on top against Northern Guilford by a score of 74-61 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ragsdale's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-18. As for Southwest Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Ragsdale was taken down by Southwest Guilford 76-36 when the teams last played back in January. Can Ragsdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
