Softball Recap: Moshannon Valley Comes Up Short

Moshannon Valley couldn't beat Glendale on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Black Knights/Damsels lost 13-6 to the Vikings. The defeat continues a trend for the Black Knights/Damsels in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.

Moshannon Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison McCoy, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Brinley Kephart was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Moshannon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Glendale, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Moshannon Valley will head out to take on West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glendale, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.59 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
