Soccer Game Preview: Sonora vs. El Modena

The Sonora Raiders will head out on the road to take on the El Modena Vanguards at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Sonora will head out to face El Modena after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. Sonora lost 3-0 to Pacifica. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Raiders struggled afterwards.

Meanwhile, El Modena unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Cypress by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vanguards came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Centurions are ranked 823rd).

Sonora's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3-3. As for El Modena, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
