Dynamic duo of Cassidy Pough and Raniya Tyler lead Calhoun County to victory

Recap: Calhoun County Saints vs. North Eagles

The Calhoun County Saints waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 50-45 W over North. That's another feather in the cap for Calhoun County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Calhoun County was led to victory by Cassidy Pough and Raniya Tyler. Pough dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, while Tyler scored 16 points along with four steals. Tyler is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Andrade, who scored seven points along with two blocks.

Despite the loss, North saw an underclassman step up: Alayshia Mack dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mack has scored all season.

Calhoun County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for North, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Calhoun County will take on Wagener-Salley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wagener-Salley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for North, they will head out on the road to take on Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
