Baseball Recap: Edgewood Warriors vs. Jefferson Area Falcons

Edgewood extended their losing streak to eight on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 7-14 in the process. They came up short against the Jefferson Area Falcons, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-8 defeat two weeks ago.

Edgewood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Ende, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

As for Jefferson Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Jefferson Area's side, Toby Dickson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Jefferson Area is undefeated when Dickson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Dickson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
