Riverheads is 9-1 against Staunton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Gladiators will take on the Storm at 5:30 p.m. Riverheads' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Staunton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Riverheads easily dispatched Buffalo Gap on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Gladiators fell just short of Fort Defiance by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gladiators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Wilson Memorial hit Staunton with a eight-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm came up short against the Green Hornets, falling 12-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Storm in their meetings with the Green Hornets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Gabe Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nathan Neil, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Riverheads' loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Staunton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Riverheads skirted past Staunton 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gladiators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
