Softball Game Preview: Burleson Elks vs. Aledo Bearcats

For the second straight game, Burleson will face off against Aledo. The Elks will square off against the Bearcats on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Burleson 3.5, Aledo 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Burleson heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They lost 13-2 to Aledo. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Elks couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Aledo's part, they let KYLEIGH PAWLAK and MARINA TAVERAS run wild. PAWLAK went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while TAVERAS went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI PAWLAK has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of ADDIE PERRY, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Aledo is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Burleson, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-7.
