Softball Recap: Wendell Takes a Loss

Wendell suffered their closest loss since April 13, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Nampa Christian by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for Wendell in their meetings with Nampa Christian: they've now lost three in a row.

Breanna Comstock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jace Olmos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Annabelle McRoberts also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Wendell's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Nampa Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Wendell has already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Grangeville on the 12th. As for Nampa Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-6 win against West Side on the 12th.
