Softball Game Preview: South Newton Rebels vs. Tri-County Cavaliers

For the second straight game, South Newton will face off against Tri-County. The Rebels will take on the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Newton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Tri-County will come in with six straight victories.

South Newton came up short against Tri-County on Friday, falling 14-1.

For Tri-County's part, Madilyn Nevitt was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Nevitt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tri-County got a massive performance out of Grace Luck, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Bella Dominguez was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Tri-County pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for South Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
