Softball Recap: Kaufman Has No Trouble Against Scurry-Rosser

It was a proper cat-fight when Kaufman duked it out with Scurry-Rosser on Tuesday. Everything went the Kaufman Lions' way against the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats as the Kaufman Lions made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sadie Waters, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Phillips, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Kaufman now has a winning record of 5-4-2. As for Scurry-Rosser, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Kaufman and Scurry-Rosser's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Kaufman will take on Ennis at 7:00 p.m. on March 4th, a squad that's only allowed 3.5 runs per game. Kaufman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Scurry-Rosser's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Scurry-Rosser and Malakoff (who has only given up 1.8 runs per game) will meet at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Kaufman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
