Football Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sterling extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They lost 42-21 to the Platte Valley Broncos. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sterling still got an impressive performance from Braydon Evans, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Memphis Dempcy also deserves a shout-out for his two scores.

Platte Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Leading Platte Valley to victory were Kaden Tucker and Regan Edstrom. Tucker picked up 138 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Edstrom threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.

Sterling and Platte Valley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 2. As for Platte Valley, their break will end when they face Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
