Basketball Recap: Lowpoint-Washburn Comes Up Short

Lowpoint-Washburn lost against Seneca back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats lost to the Seneca Fighting Irish on the road by a 81-62 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Lowpoint-Washburn still got an impressive performance from Kody Knecht, who went 5 of 11 en route to 20 points and eight boards. Knecht has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Isaacson, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Lowpoint-Washburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Lowpoint-Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Seneca, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Lowpoint-Washburn will face off against Roanoke-Benson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lowpoint-Washburn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. Seneca has already played their next matchup (against Marquette), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
