Basketball Recap: Boron Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Moses Garcia and Geordyn Rundblade

Boron played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Desert Scorpions, falling 61-37. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Scorpions recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Boron's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Geordyn Rundblade, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, and Moses Garcia, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals. Those 13 rebounds gave Rundblade a new career-high. Blake Caillier also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Boron's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Desert, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Boron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-41 win against Kern Valley on the 28th. Desert has also already played their next match, a 78-44 defeat against California City on the 28th.
