Softball Game Preview: Marked Tree Indians vs. East Poinsett County Warriors

Marked Tree is 0-10 against East Poinsett County since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Marked Tree put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Maynard as they made off with a 10-1 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, East Poinsett County came tearing into Monday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the Mustangs.

East Poinsett County's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Marked Tree, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Marked Tree might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from East Poinsett County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
