Recap: Cabot Panthers vs. Bryant Hornets

The Cabot Panthers suffered their closest loss since November 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Bryant by a score of 51-48. While losing is never fun, Cabot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Bryant is ranked second).

Bryant got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Camarion Bead out in front who scored 21 points along with two steals. Bead is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Young, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Cabot has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Bryant, the victory was the 24th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Cabot will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cabot has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Bryant, they will head out on the road to challenge Little Rock Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bryant is coming into the match with five straight wins on the road, meaning Little Rock Southwest will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
