Amherst won the last time they faced Iola-Scandinavia and things went their way  on Monday too. The Falcons blew past the Thunderbirds 10-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Falcons.
 AJ O'Brien made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Logan Hintz was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ethan Peskie, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
Amherst's record is now 10-5. As for Iola-Scandinavia, they moved to 5-6 with that  defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
 Coming up, Amherst will head out on the road to  challenge  Menominee Indian  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Iola-Scandinavia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
