Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brentwood Christian). They claimed a resounding 84-33 victory over Veritas Academy. With the Bears ahead 50-22 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Brentwood Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryant Herring led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Herring a new career-high in steals (four). Blake Petty was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Brentwood Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Several Veritas Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Karnes, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Perry Kinane, who put up 13 points and three steals.

Brentwood Christian's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Veritas Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

When Brentwood Christian and Veritas Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Brentwood Christian will try to stop Texas Lions HomeSchool's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Veritas Academy will try to stop Hill Country Christian School of Austin's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 7:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
