Softball Game Preview: Rio Vista Eagles vs. Everman Bulldogs

The Rio Vista Eagles will kick their season off against the Everman Bulldogs on Friday. First pitch is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.

After dropping their season opener at home, Rio Vista is headed out to face a Bulldogs squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Everman took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Crowley on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Rio Vista, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (5-9), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Everything went Rio Vista's way against Everman when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as Rio Vista made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Vista since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
