Baseball Game Preview: Marshfield Pirates vs. Brookings-Harbor Bruins

Marshfield is 1-9 against Brookings-Harbor since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Bruins at 5:00 p.m. Marshfield will be strutting in after a win while Brookings-Harbor will be coming in after a defeat.

Marshfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Woodburn, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Bulldogs on Saturday. The Pirates not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Brookings-Harbor fell victim to Taft and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 9-0 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bruins have suffered since April 2, 2024.

Brookings-Harbor's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Marshfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Marshfield skirted past Brookings-Harbor 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
