Football Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Valley View duked it out with Vista del Lago on Thursday. The Eagles took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravens. The Eagles have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jesse Vega threw for 128 yards on 11 of 21 attempts. Damien Randin was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards.

A big part of Vista del Lago's win came down to the chemistry between Josiah Dupree-Boyd and his top target Malik Ogeare. Dupree-Boyd threw for 147 yards and one touchdown while Ogeare picked up 60 receiving yards and one score. Ogeare was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 55 yards.

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Vista del Lago, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Valley View will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Colony at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Vista del Lago, they will head out on the road to square off against Adelanto at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
