Recap: Chipley Tigers vs. Holmes County Blue Devils
The Chipley Tigers and the Holmes County Blue Devils squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Chipley Tigers had to settle for second. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Chipley falling 26-7. Their loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Landon Lumpkin had a dynamite game for Holmes County, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 39 receiving yards.
Chipley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Holmes County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Chipley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holmes County will head out on the road to face off against Bozeman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bozeman is on a six-game streak of home wins, Holmes County a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
