Softball Recap: Celeste's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Celeste had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Bland Tigers 10-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-6 on Tuesday.

Madilen Fronterhouse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, MaddieClaire Park was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Morgan Nickell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Celeste was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Celeste's record now sits at 19-8. As for Bland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
