Baseball Recap: KIPP King Takes a Loss

KIPP King managed to slip by Making Waves Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Marlins on Monday, falling 14-3. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marlins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Gabriel Acevedo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Vicente Villagomez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

The loss snapped KIPP King's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Making Waves Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

KIPP King didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 27-8 win against Leadership on the 2nd. As for Making Waves Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 victory against Emerald on the 2nd.
