Volleyball Recap: Josie Shephard and Natalie Payne Secure Win for Culver Academies

Culver Academies won the last time they faced Twin Lakes and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since September 28, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Culver Academies got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-7.

Leading Culver Academies to victory were Natalie Payne and Josie Shephard. Payne had 16 digs and three assists, while Shephard had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Shephard has posted since back in August.

The win made it two in a row for Culver Academies and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Twin Lakes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Culver Academies wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Glenn on the 27th. As for Twin Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Delphi Community on the 30th.
