Softball Recap: Maplewood Comes Up Short

Maplewood lost to Stratford back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Spartans, falling 20-2. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 18 runs.

Autumn Beard-Bowden was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Maplewood and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Stratford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Maplewood will head out to face off against Whites Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stratford, they will venture away from home to take on Pearl-Cohn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
