Softball Recap: Trimble Falls to Southern in First Game of Season

Trimble unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-5 to the Southern Tornadoes on Tuesday. The Tomcats have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

B Burdette made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Portier, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Southern, bringing their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Trimble will square off against rival Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southern is set to take on their familiar foe Waterford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
