Baseball Recap: Hampton County Comes Up Short

Hampton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-6 to the Edisto Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 9-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Mandrel Sanders was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Tubbs, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hampton County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Edisto, they moved to 1-2 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton County will welcome Edisto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edisto, they will take on Williston-Elko at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
