Basketball Recap: Mohave Takes a Loss

Mohave lost against Coconino back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mohave Thunderbirds lost to the Coconino Panthers on the road by a 62-48 margin. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Mohave lost, don't look at Kingzten Bristol. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. That's the most points Bristol has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Cook, who put up nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coconino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fitz Guinan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Oryon Huayhualla was another key player, going 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Mohave now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Coconino, they moved to 9-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mohave didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-42 win against Mingus on the 10th. As for Coconino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-60 victory against Bradshaw Mountain on the 14th.
