Basketball Recap: Chatham Charter Knights vs. Triangle Math & Science Tigers
The Chatham Charter Knights waltzed into their match on Friday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Triangle Math & Science. Chatham Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Meah Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last six times she's played. Hannah Headen was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.
Triangle Math & Science lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leanna Nohs, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Nohs has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samrita Sriram, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Chatham Charter pushed their record up to 18-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Triangle Math & Science, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatham Charter will challenge the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clover Garden School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
