Football Recap: Iraan Skates Past Winters with Ease

Iraan never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Winters Blizzards, posting a 47-0 win. That looming 47-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Braves yet this season.

Iraan had a senior duo take command as Prather Schneemann threw for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes and Cristian Buitron picked up 133 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 133 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Buitron. Alex Reyes also helped with two scores in total.

Iraan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Iraan's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Lelend Luna was the leader with two. Iraan got some further help from Tres Sanchez: he picked up a sack, made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Iraan's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Winters, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Iraan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 68-14 win against Reagan County on the 26th. As for Winters, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-0 victory against Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene on the 26th.
