Baseball Game Preview: St. Martin Yellow Jackets vs. Biloxi Indians

For the second straight game, St. Martin will face off against Biloxi. The Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, St. Martin came up short against Biloxi and fell 8-4.

For Biloxi's part, Shawn Gollott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks. Gollott has become a key player for the Indians: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Connor Lofton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Biloxi is undefeated when Lofton posts two or more runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tristain Haynes, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

St. Martin dropped their record down to 11-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Biloxi, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.
