The Corcoran Panthers will face off against the Granite Hills Grizzlies at 8:00 a.m. Granite Hills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Corcoran, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Corcoran was able to grind out a solid victory over Orange Cove, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 25-27, 25-9.
Jacqueline Guzman went supernova for Corcoran, getting 17 aces and a block. Guzman is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Castillo, who had six aces and a block.
She wasn't the only good server: Corcoran was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 33 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Wonderful College Prep Academy.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 20-25, 25-20.
Corcoran's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Granite Hills, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
