Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Wallkill

Wallkill extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Zoe Mesuch. The Wallkill Panthers took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 52-24 victory over the Onteora Eagles thanks in part to Mesuch, who went 11-for-20 en route to 24 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wallkill's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Letza Bonilla, who posted two points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those six boards gave her a new career-high.

Wallkill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. Onteora's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Wallkill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-51 loss against Beacon on the 20th. As for Onteora, they will challenge Rondout Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
