Football Recap: Harding Raiders vs. Washington Tigers

Harding lost against Washington back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Harding Raiders were beaten by the Washington Tigers 45-14. The Raiders have struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Harding took the loss, they still got scores from Chaz Coleman and Airiz Coleman Bey.

Even if they lost, Harding's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Deshawn Wynn was especially locked on to Washington's QB and sacked him twice.

That's the most rushing yards Gamble has posted since back in October of 2023. Jalen Slaughter was another key player, throwing for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

The loss snapped Harding's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Washington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Harding will challenge Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Austintown-Fitch is on a four-game streak of home wins, Harding a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Washington, they will face off against McKinley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
