Basketball Recap: Donna Takes a Loss

Donna played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 55-30 to the Economedes Jaguars. The Redskins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.

Economedes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Garcia led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. The Jaguars are 5-2 when Garcia posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caleb Mejia, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 14 points and eight steals.

Donna's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Economedes, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Economedes has already played their next contest, a 36-34 win against Hidalgo Early College on the 4th. Hopefully Donna paid attention to the Jaguars' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
