Football Recap: Hunter Starts Season with Loss at Home

Hunter unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 22-7 to the Layton Christian Academy Eagles.

Hunter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andru Gomez and Keagen Lewis.

Trevor Halalilo had a dynamite game For Layton Christian Academy., rushing for 201 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Those 201 rushing yards gave Halalilo a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunter is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Layton Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Duchesne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
