Preview: Wellsville Eagles vs. Baldwin Bulldogs
Wellsville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Baldwin Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wellsville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Iola 73-46 at home. Wellsville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Baldwin didn't have too much trouble with Louisburg on the road on Friday as they won 62-46.
Cooper Carr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Collum, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Wellsville pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Baldwin, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Wellsville suffered a grim 73-52 defeat to Baldwin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Wellsville, Caleb Carr (who scored 28 points along with seven assists and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
