Basketball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Lincoln North Star Navigators

Westview is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They and the Lincoln North Star Navigators will compete for holiday cheer at 2:45 p.m. One thing working in Westview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Thursday, Westview got the win against Burke by a conclusive 75-49. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Westview's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tzyon Patterson, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and four steals, and Elijah Wilborn, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 12 points and three steals. Patterson has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. EJ Swindle was another key player, putting up four points in addition to eight assists and six steals.

Westview was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burke only racked up eight.

Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star beat Lincoln High 71-60 on Friday.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lincoln North Star, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Westview strolled past Lincoln North Star in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 71-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
