Football Recap: East Burke Starts Season with Defeat at Home

East Burke unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 26-0 to the West Iredell Warriors on Friday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Carter Bennett threw for 37 yards on two of eight attempts. On the ground, Ossie Burkeen rushed for 77 yards.

East Burke will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Foard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Iredell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
